Innovative technologies have been used in global organizations to enhance performance. Technology Acceptance Model is used to explore current trends such as new media, web 2.0 tools, and other social media networks. Organize your Information Overload.

Topics:

From Data to Business Intelligence. #DrJoseWhiteboard

This graphic shows the steps to convert data into Business Intelligence. We go from big data warehouses to do data mining and extract the pieces that we will filter, analyze and store as records in databases.

We then organize, sort, and clean records to produce information.  We start the process of selecting useful information that we can convert into intelligence. Similar to military intelligence, we study this meaningful information to produce business intelligence for our organization. This business intelligence  allows leaders and managers to make decisions keeping the competitive advantage. Business intelligence is also useful to expand to new markets, explore new countries, and try new systems. Two important considerations are: Control Information Overload and Validate Sources. These will help to have better Data at the Base. It is called “database” for a reason. We are using this graphic and video in our courses. #DrLepervancheCampus

Teleducator Network. A navigational chart to integrate online learning resources

Image

The Teleducator Network is our Navigational Chart to access our current educational, business, and community resources. The idea came while looking for solutions to reduce Information Overload in our online courses.

The Teleducator Network is an information and knowledge integrator where topics are organized by type of resources. Channels is about You Tube videos. Community has links to several organizations where I volunteer. Courses contain links to all courses including website companions, reading or slides. Labs are past and current project to enhance management, leadership, and systems courses and to test emerging technologies and methods. Students are involved on these labs using discussions, assignments, or team projects. Newsletters include paper.li and Scoop. Social media is an area to link to several Facebook pages, Linkedin, and Twitter. Websites & Blogs include personal and professional websites, blogs, and collaboration in other websites. The Teleducator Network is always “under construction” as new resources are constantly added.

Professors and students are invited to use and share resources, not only during a specific course, but as part of a continuous lifelong learning experience.

Browse through our online resources using the links on the left, or by using the drop-down menu at the top of this site.  You can also search for specific things as well.

Widgets and Gadgets: From E-learning to M-learning and Beyond
Emerging technologies have allowed online learning to add interactive tools to courses. New web, media and mobile applications or widgets, and new devices or gadgets, bring innovative resources to the hands of students. Education is moving from e-learning to m-learning and beyond as hybrid methods are also being incorporated to both on-land and online courses. Our Web Media Lab (www.webmedialab.org) has been testing these widgets and gadgets applying both Technology Acceptance and Affordability Models to explore real usability beyond courses into real life. Wireless and mobile technologies allow users to be in a virtual office all the time.(ID #145/Track 2)

Extreme Time Management: Busy People Always Have Time. A Personal Leadership System.

Extreme Time Management: Busy People Always Have Time. A Personal Leadership System.

Time is one thing in the world that we cannot change. Information, communications, family, friends, and work overload our time. We fill our day with activities that overwhelm our capacity to handle them. We need extreme time management methods to cope with stress, unproductivity, and procrastination. Time survivors keep them busy without losing sanity. Busy people always have time to do more. Lazy people always complain about the things they cannot do. Managers select busy people when assembling successful teams. Methods include beliefs, values, priorities, lifelong project management, effective delegation, and technology usage to simplify life and work.(ID #146/Track 1)

Reducing Information and Communications Overload in Management Online Education ROOM 9B, LEVEL 3 • EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY

Cutting-edge technologies have been used in the management program to enhance discussions and classroom interactions. Some of these technologies have created information overload in online courses. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is being used to reduce unnecessary methods that could overwhelm learners and distract them from course content.
