Another #GlobalLearningAdventures’ presentation. Our journey to Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Mostar, a city divided by a river and connected by a historic bridge. Two communities living in both sides of the city reconstructing their lives, city and country after a war.
We visited Bosnia and Herzegovina and went to Medjugorje and Mostar. We started on Italy and crossed Slovenia and Croatia before arriving to Medjugorje. We visited Mostar in a rainy day and we were able to visit downtown, a mosque, and a catholic church. We crossed the Old Bridge and talked to locals. We crossed the street that separated both sides during the was and we were able to see buildings with bullet holes. Our Mostar presentation explores post-conflict reconstruction, projects, businesses, and government.
I attended a presentation about history of Bosnian-Serbian relations by Dr. Andrew Holt. The frame of reference was the book “The Bosnia List” and part of FSCJ “The Authors’ Series”. It was great to learn about the history I was able to live during our visit to Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
